The first ever GBM Consulting Cup Two Day Motocross has been held and despite the different weather conditions over the two days I think everyone had a blast. I had some of the best racing I have had in a long time against Swan Hill Suzuki’s Brenton Keep and the crowd thought so too! We battled all weekend long in the lites and the open classes but Keepy had the points to take the overall win in both classes, and took home the GBM Consulting Cup.
The North West Victorian Motorcycle Club and all its volunteers put in a lot of effort to make this event possible and plan to make it an annual event on motocross rider’s calendars. Thanks to GBM consulting, Heapsy Earthworks, Millewa Quarries, Quick-fix Motorcycles and everybody involved- this event is sure to get bigger and better each year!
In the open class I finished just a few points shy over the 7 rounds of racing on a borrowed 09 Honda CRF450 with Mildura Motorcycle’s Jason Wood taking the third step on the podium. Thanks to Carl Woulfe for letting me ride his bike for the weekend, the CRF 450 is without a doubt the best 450 on the market!
The lites podium was similar with Keepy narrowly taking the win ahead of myself with Jeff Emig Racing’s Jono Trenorden taking the third spot.
I would like to personally thank everyone that lets me train on their practice tracks, my girlfriend Tahnee for her ongoing support and everybody that has made racing this year possible, the list is bigger than you could imagine and I appreciate all your support, year in year out.
For the remainder of the year things are pretty quiet racing wise but I am flat out getting prepared and set up for another full year of motocross racing. The season is set to really fire up around March-April and by then I should be in a good position to bring home some good results on a State and National level.
Until my next story 'Go Hard'!!!
